SCWOT Tournament Recap

Last weekend, the SCWOT Tournament took place on the Saint Croix river. Teams fished from the Hudson bridge all the way down to Prescott. It was a nice turnout with a total of 24 anglers. Conditions were not the best as the water was so high that there was a no wake restriction for the whole river. On top of that, the wind was really kicking, so most boats were stuck fishing shoreline since travel to other spots with the no wake was very time consuming.

The morning kicked off late for my team...anointed the Sibley Trifecta by the competition. We were fishing around 7-7:30ish which was late considering the tourney was from 4am-1pm. We motored down south of the Hudson bridge to meet up with some of the competition known as Team Cretin (although my team did have a sleeper in their boat). In perfect fashion, as soon as we pulled up next to them, team captain, Adonis stuck a fish right when we started fishing. After fighting it for what seemed like much too long, the net man on loan from www.seamlessgutterdelivery.com stepped up and netted a big walleye. As it turns out, the biggest walleye of the tourney.

As it turns out, the rest of the day was very tough on our boat as Adonis consistently fanned on fish as I being the guides guide put him on fish all day. Team Cretin didn't fair so well, as word has it, it was a late night of pool and beer before the tourney.

Down south towards Prescott, the big winners of the tourney were the Southside boys. After hooking into a 50" Sturgeon on 8lb test and fighting it for a half hour, the team stepped it up and ended up catching 5 nice walleye to win the biggest stringer award. Team Prescott tried to show these outsiders how it is done in their own back yard, but I think a few of them thought it was a bass tourney.

All in all, it was a good time and I want to thank the Prescott boys for putting it together. Looking forward to next year.
