The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers last month purchased 74 acres on the west side of the Rush River just north of Hwy. 35. The plans are to restore the farmland to a forested floodplain.

The land, including more than a half-mile of river frontage, will be open for non-motorized recreation.

Good news for all trout anglers that enjoy fishing the Rush.
