"Dottie", a 19-pound bass was found floating dead in Dixon Lake in San Diego. The bass had a spot on its gills that made it recognizable. This was at least the third time the fish was in a fisherman's hands. Caught in 2003, Dottie weighted 23 pounds, but it took the DNR over 3 hrs to officially weight the fish and by then it lost weight because it was stressed.....it was weighted at 21 pounds, 11 ounces. That is the 4th largest ever. Caught again in 2006, the fish weighted 25 pounds, 1 ounce, shattering the record, but the angler just took some photos and released her to swim another day. Here are some pics of the bass: Read the original story here.

Cool story. Glad it got to go of natural causes instead of dying due to mishandling in some tank.
