There is a really cool article on espn outdoors about a group of fisherman from southern California that were going out tuna fishing and crashed into a tuna net in international waters. What ensued was quite a story. Check out the story HERE.

If you are not familiar with the tuna nets that these commercial fisherman use to wrangle and proceed to fatten up tuna for eventual sale in Japan for sushi, you should do some google searches on them....really interesting.

Well, that's not quite like taking the Chris Craft out on Whitefish Lake for an afternoon, is it?

Maybe somebody else can help me understand something. Are the Mexican Authorities so corrupt that a man would sink his own boat before letting the Mexicans tow it into harbor? Mexico must be little better than Somolia.

Comments anyone ??

I guess I don't know to what degree they are corrupt, but I have seen first hand in Mexico how corrupt they can be and it does not surprise me that the captain would sink his ship before he would let the Mexicans board it. Since it sounded like he has fished in those waters for a long time and was familiar with the Mexican authorities in the area, I guess I would take his word for it. Crazy to even think someone would do that!
