Fished for crappie in Western Wisconsin yesterday afternoon. Weather was great...low 60's and sunny with a nice breeze. Fishing was slow from about 4:30-7:30 with only 1 perch and a nice 16inch walleye we tossed back. Right around 7:30, it hit the fan. There was a feeding frenzy. For a good 30-45 minutes, that action was non-stop. We made the mistake of still trying to fish two lines which caused us to loose more fish. I would say we caught 25-35 nice fat ones during that time. I was in our small boat so I didn't have electronics to get the water temp, but it is still quite cool. Crappie fishing should be getting better here as the days go on into the spring.

It varies, but the bigger ones are usually 8-10 inches. Get some monsters every once in a while.

Dang down here in Bama I fish a lake that always produces 16" plus Crappie. Monsters are considered 20" +
