Went down to Texas for Christmas to visit my wife's family and went Crappie fishing with my in-laws. We fished 3 days, 3 hours each day and caught over 250 crappies, keeping 196. We kept 11 the first night, 57 the second, and 128 the third. It was pretty incredible. It reminded me of the good old days at Red. The largest was 15" and most were between 11-14". It was a hell of a time.

Glad I didn't have to clean all of those...sounds like fun though.

Yeah, It was a little bit of a pain in the ass, but worth every second of it. We had a pretty good system with two cleaning stations. Two guys filleted and two guys cut out the Y's. Not all that bad, took about an hour. Believe it or not, the first night was the worst, even though there was only 11 fish to clean, as I did them myself at the end of the dock. It was high 30's with 20+ mph winds and I couldn't even feel my fingers. We smartened up the next 2 nights and took them indoors.

Yeah, talk about flash backs to the glory days of Red. That must have been a blast. Like they say......"Everything is Big in Texas", even the crappies!

Way better than Tilapia. In fl were only allowed 25 per day. when i was younger 50 a day and that was not hard to do. Sounds like a fun time.
