Excited to report I have shot my first deer. Went out on Saturday 11/26 and sat in the stand nice weather for about the first 10- 15 min i was out. Next thing I know its raining cats and dogs and lasted for about 3 hours. Saw a doe (cant shoot doe in the county) 10in spread rule applies.Waited and waited. So Decided to call it a day. As the day went on the temp dropped to mid 40's and wind was rageing at 35 miles avg. Got up Sunady (11\27)about 4:45-5 grabbed a cup of coffee and off I went.

Temp was 38 deg. and sustained wind at 30 with gust of 45. Interesting weather. Decided after the sit, to meet up with my uncle for some wisdom. Moved to another part of the land and as we split up to go to diff stands. Was walking down a lane when I noticed a bedding area. Walked through it to see if anything was hiding. Nothing. As i made my way back to the lane @ about 80-100 yards a doe popped out in the lane from the tree line. I saw her and she saw me. I stopped dead in my tracks and knelt down just waiting for my chance. Out came a nice buck and stopped just behind the doe. I layed down slowly as kneeling i absoluetly could not hold a bead. (Never had a chance to shoot a deer before so buck fever had me good!) About the time that was able to lay down and get the gun comfortable he spotted me. A million and 1 things were going through my mind at the time. Lined him up with a nice shot and BAM! Lady luck must have been on my side as he fell flat without having a chance to run. The best part of the whole story(besides being my first deer!) Would be the MONSTER that ran after seeing his buddy go down for the count easy 10-12 point deer with a spread 2 times the 1 I had shot. LOL.

Update to post: Love the solunar calander was a 2 * day during good activity time that I was able to come across this guy. If there is a star reported on the sol. cal. on any given day and I have a chance to either be out in the field or on the water good luck finding me!!!!!!

cogratulations on your first deer if you are like me and probably many others on here it will not be your last as you are probably hooked for life.

Indeed my friends it was an amazing feeling. Thanks for the post gentelmen I do appreciate it big time. I certainly have been bit by the Bug!!

Congrats on your first deer!! That's a day you'll remember for the rest of your life. Enjoy and savor the moment.
