The stars are pretty accurate for me when theres not other influences like the weather, rut, etc... but for whatever reason, the times do not seem to be dependable. Seems like around here, a hunters best bet is still that first and last hour of daylight...or the occasional lunch time hunt to get out of the house and away from the old lady.

oldschooler...glad you are seeing success with the calendar. The best times will almost always be the 1st and last hour of daylight just based on games normal activity patterns, but the solunar activity during daylight/night time hours will also lead to additional activity. If there was an exact science to when the fish would bite or the deer are up walking their trails, we would all have trophies under our belt, but to mine and every other outdoor enthusiasts discontent, this isn't the case d'oh!

I guess I would suggest to keep using the calendar as a guide on the better days to get out and maybe focus more around the peak times on those days to be in the "good" spots, but like you said, any excuse to get out of the house and away from the old lady is never a bad thing...haha
