Congrat's on getting the permission! I have a couple of plots I hunt on, and the first thing I try to do on the first of the year is remind the owners of how much I appreciate their generosity. Depending on the owners (of course) a bottle of expensive whiskey works well. I also make sure to get a bottle of wine for the wife. For one couple, I took a nice picture of the sun setting behind their barn. I had it enlarged and framed. That paid off, as I am the only person they allow to hunt there now. And ALWAYS offer a part of the game you take.
I'm sure many members on this site can offer all kinds of ideas, but I like to take photos of natural shooting lanes this time of year because everything looks different (leafy) in August when you start to think about stand placement. If you spend time now deciding where you might like your blinds to be, you can avoid a lot of unnecessary disturbance of the area by "trimming" lanes.
A few reminders. Be certain to ask the owners about cutting anything, building anything, or putting anything in trees. One farmer who lets me hunt wants me to bury the gut pile.
Like I said, I know others members will have great suggestions, but these are things I try to keep in mind. Good Luck!
