Hey all, Pete here. Lookin for stuff in case of an emergency. first aid kit and stuff. I usually try to keep my dollars local but the prices are sky high where I live. No, we don't have a wal-mart :)

Does anybody know sum good websites for that kinda stuff? first aid kits or emergency things?

Not sure what type of first aid you are looking for, but there are a few options here:

Make your own first aid kit:

When I go 'up north', small accidents usually mean somebody got bit by the bowsaw or they got a burn. A 'bowsaw firstaid kit' IMHO would be a bottle of betadine and a roll of medial tape. Burns are a little more complex ... lots of gauze, guaze paddings, large quantity of some sort of burn ointment, and a roll of medical tape. Throw in a VERY sharp thin-bladed knife (for cutting tape, poking slivers, cutting off loose skin), a good tweezer, a box of bandaids, a wire-cutter (method of removing fish hooks) and I'd say you have what you need.

Review:

- bottle of betadine or hydrogen peroxide
- roll or two of medical tape
- large tube of burn ointment
- gauze pads
- roll of gauze
- sharp thin-bladed knife
- tweezer
- box of bandaids
- wire cutter
- bottle of (real) aspirin
- bottle of other head-ache medicine
- bottle of decongentant / cold relief

Won't be as pretty as those nice kits in the store, but you will actually have exactly what you need.

Hi Pete, welcome to the site. Lance had some good info above, but I thought I would throw in my 2 cents. Cabellas has a good selection of survival gear and first aid supplies. Check out the link below. Prices vary, but it's at least worth a look.
