Shootin the same as dayday,I shot a hog in Florida on the opening day of 08 in the neck at 10yrds and the entry was larger than 4"(after the arrow depressed the thick hide and deployed the blades). A guy at camp asked me why I stabbed the hog in the neck with my knife. Arrow was sent from a 07 70lb PSE Xforce. Very deadly combination.

i used crimson tallon hyper speed with my crossbow. they are fixed blades with a spiral twist on blades, made for crossbow speeds. twist on blades causes arrow to spin (like rifling). they fly true and no planing like some broadheads. when they hit the animal, they screw through the meat causing more cut path than traditional blades. killed six deer since using them, none went more than 20 yds. watched all of them crash. bleeds them out quick. they come in 100 and 125 grns

for those of you that use fixed blades, What do you look for in selecting them, I have seen a lot of new technology into the broadhead selection, and not sure what to think.

I use G5 90gr 3 blade for past 3yrs. Both bucks that i shot and killed only went 20 yrds, shot at 30. My 14 point buck on the wall, was shot with an allen three blade, bought at K-mart. Shot him in 01. In my opinion, any broadhead out there has the potential of putting down deer. The best way, all comes down to shot placement.

I shoot the three blade rage broadhead. Shot two doe last year. The first one was actually difficult to find because the arrow passed through and tore out a chunk of lung that plugged the exit hole. It didn't run real far, but there wasn't any blood trail at all. Tonight I shot a six pointer, and blood was literally spraying out of the side like a geyser. I couldn't believe my eyes. I apologize for the graphic nature of my post. I'm just impressed with the effectivness of this broadhead. Stay safe.

I would have to agree with Huntersmurf about shot placement. I shoot 100 gr Magnus double edged blades and they do the trick. I do like the cutting power of the rage though.
