Fishing has been good this year with personal best catches in flounder and trout(spotted sea) both with rod&reel and gig. As the weather cools I am seeing an increase in reds and blacks. I went out last night (10/05) and here in my local area we were looking at a 2* night according to the solunar calendar on this website. Again I would like to encourage ANYONE that is able to go out and enjoy the outdoors on any day they can especially if the solunar calendar holds a report of 2 or more stars.

I was able to get a hook into a 20-23 in red throwing a shrimp tail trout rig. The only thing is that i did not have a net with me and tried to pull the fish out the hard way. About the time i got him out of the water and on the bulkhead he spit the hook and with a triumphant flop he has back in the water in no time. if i would have had a net or even my gig with me he'd be coming home with me. Other than that last night i had a nice size flounder spit the hook. ALthough was able to get "1 in the boat" a nice size flounder just short of a keeper. Other than that we caught skip jack, a few specs lost the red and the flounder Over all a great night of fishing. Only out for about 2.5 hours of fish time. Certainly worth it. Lets go out and put a hook in the water!!!

Just a quick post. "Red Tide" Major drag and missing some serious fishing time. I will get more information on what is going on in my local area as far as number of fish being affected, Time frame, severity as well as a few pics. IS any one else out there dealing with red tide? If so how bad as it in your area and is the weather affecting the bloom?

Hopefully we will see the red tide move out of the area soon and we can back to some serious fishing. I am getting stir crazy and ready to get after em.
